POP and SMTP server addresses

There are two (2) ways to access emails. One is through the use of your browser which is called webmail and the other is through a software or application called email client such outlook, eudora, thunderbird, etc. That's why you may notice that your email provider may have limited support over your client emails because even though they have provided the email, they don't have control over the behavior of email clients especially if the computer itself is acting up. But in case though that you still opt to use clients I have the list of the email server addresses you may use to set it up. I have a few sample of email providers below that might help you.

AT&T and Time Warner Road Runner have several domains. For AT&T the domains are listed below but will use the same POP and SMTP server addresses.
  • @ameritech.net
  • @att.net
  • @bellsouth.net
  • @flash.net
  • @nvbell.net
  • @pacbell.net
  • @prodigy.net
  • @sbcglobal.net
  • @snet.net
  • @swbell.net
  • @wans.net
For Time Warner Road Runner, when typing the address, you will need to change the domain. For example your email is johndoe123@nyc.rr.com, your pop and smtp servers must be pop-server.nyc.rr.com and smtp-server.nyc.rr.com.

PROTECT IP/ SOPA

PROTECT IP / SOPA Breaks The Internet from Fight for the Future on Vimeo.

Tell Congress not to censor the internet NOW! - fightforthefuture.org/pipa

PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting "creativity". The law would let the government or corporations censor entire sites-- they just have to convince a judge that the site is "dedicated to copyright infringement." The government has already wrongly shut down sites without any recourse to the site owner. Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be considered illegal behavior according to this bill. According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill would cost us $47 million tax dollars a year — that's for a fix that won't work, disrupts the internet, stifles innovation, shuts out diverse voices, and censors the internet. This bill is bad for creativity and does not protect your rights.

I Hope They Understand The Meaning Of Pity Or Mercy

I just chatted with my previous office mates asking them how they were doing. Seems like I have not seen them online much unlike before that we had much time talking about anything work or non work related. One of my office mates and friend, she told me that she was sick. I commented that she has been sick for weeks now. Well, even before I resigned she was already sick. I advised her to take a week of leave of absence since she does not have any vacation or sick leave credits. She told me that LOA for a week or a few days is no longer allowed. (our old policy was we can take LOA with a minimum of 7 days) The new rule is that they have to be on LOA for a month and they won't be paid and their pay will be held. I told her to be absent instead. She said she would do.
She is already tired and the stress that they have right now is too much. It does not have anything to do with the account or the service provider that they are working for. We have mastered all the troubleshooting steps. We do the same thing every day. But the rules and policies that they are imposing are a little bit unreasonable. Like the scorecard. The account itself has its own scorecard and easy to meet. But the company has its own scorecard that includes conformance to their scripts. Hello, we are talking to human beings on the phone. There are things that are irrelevant and you don't need to ask our customers. Customers might think we don't know what we are doing.
I remember when I was still with them, I kept arguing with the people listening to my calls about why there were certain steps or questions that I didn't do or ask or I just asked 3 questions and I proceeded with troubleshooting. I never passed my QA, which is the form/tool they use to check whether we are following call flow/scripts or not. I told them being spontaneous was my secret why I have the best customer service survey returns from my customers. True I was not conforming but I was not failing my satisfaction surveys.
I wish they will learn from this mistake. Every day people just leave their doors. I wish they open their eyes and understand that the workers are human. The reason why they are failing right now has nothing to do with the service which they are catering nor with the skills of the workers. It has something to do with how they are treating their people. Imagine going on overtime for more than 2 years, not being able to take your vacation leave, reading from scripts, people listening to you just to find faults but never praise you for a job well done, having no nurse to accompany you when you had a baby miscarriage, your house is far and you can't adjust your schedule, your baby is sick but you can't be absent, you have pay discrepancy, losing your bonus after being hospitalized, some hospitals not taking your health care card and all you do is make money for them.
I just wish that they will grant the request of my friend to change her schedule to 6AM so she will not go to work late; that she will be allowed to take her leave because her youngest son is sick, that one of my team mates will be well because she has been sick or at least she will be allowed to go on unpaid leave at least 1 week, and that my male office mate will be allowed to work 2 weeks after the appendectomy. How I wish I was still there so I could complain. It was not like before that I can bring things up and have actions taken. What I can do right now is cheer them up, it's only a few days more because after they receive their bonuses on January 31st they will be resigning. And sooner, they will lose the account if they will not change for improvement.

Is It True That I Can Watch Uverse On My Smartphone?

For many months, I have been receiving calls with the same questions, "Is it true I can watch Uverse on my phone?", "Can I watch Uverse on my phone?" The answer is possible. It depends on the phone that you are using. Not all smartphones are compatible with Uverse. If you have u200 and above and have at&t cellphone service, you can text "Mobile" to 3421 to check if your phone is compatible.

If your phone is compatible, subscribe to the download feature. Once subscribed, tap Watch in the menu bar.

Tap B to pull up the list of shows that you can download.

Shows are listed by network initially.  You can change to an alphabetical listing of shows by tapping the A-Z button. Tap a show to bring up a listing of all available episodes for that show. Just tap the download button to begin downloading a show.

Tap the Back button at the top of the screen to return to the show listing. Tap Watch Now to bring up a listing of all of the shows which have been downloaded and which are in the process of downloading.  Shows with more than one episode downloaded will show a quantity to the right of the show.  Single episodes will show the quick play arrow button.

Tap a show to go to the listing of episodes or to go to the detail page for that show.  Tap the green quick playback arrow button from the shows listing or the Watch Now button on the show detail page to begin playing the show.

You can also tap the Subscribe Season button to queue all available shows for download. When shows become available for that series in the future, with series subscription, your app will download them automatically when you open the app and have WiFi access. Shows will only download over a WiFi network, but you can browse the catalog and queue up a list of shows over the cellular network. When you next open the app with WiFi access, any queued shows will begin to download.

Take note that this is just a sample of the iphone interface. It may vary depending on your phone.
