Unable To Connect To The Internet

I have been discussing troubleshooting steps relating to Uverse services. I forgot that I would like to help other customers. What I will be giving you are just basic steps. You may still need to call your service provider if everything else fails.

1. First you need to check if your modem or router is powered on and there is no unusual lights. Like for example the power is red. Usually if the power led light is red it indicates that the modem is bad. Also, check if there is something disconnected from your modem and your computer.

2.After checking the modem, check if the IP address of your computer or any device that needs internet. Remember a 192.168.1.100 is a valid IP but in some instances like for Time Warner Cable Internet, it means that the modem is on stand by mode and you need to press the stand by button to turn it on again.

How an IP address looks like
3. If the IP address is correct try rebooting your modem and computer or other devices. If the IP address is not valid, check if there is something wrong with your computer's network adapter. Make sure that the firewall does not block any network traffic and it is updated and not expired.

4. If step number 3 is done, and you're still not able to connect to the internet, check if the TCP/IP settings are correct. For service providers that uses DHCP connection, please make sure that the TCP/IP is set to obtain IP and DNS server addresses automatically.*

5. Check the browser settings. Make sure that your browser is set to never dial a connection or there is nothing  in the box where it says dial up and virtual network. And make sure there is no proxy. If your browser is looking good, try deleting browsing history or if you have not saved any websites in your favorites, try resetting your browser. **

*For computers which has VPN set up, try to set the IP to automatic first. Make sure you write down the IP settings of your company before making any changes to your computer.
**You can save the bookmarks or favorites on your computer first.

What To Do If The Uverse Box Is Muted Or The Sound Is Too Low

There are times in the middle of watching TV or when you don't do anything at all with your remote control, your TV seems to be muted or the volume is too low. And when you check the volume of your TV or sound system, the volume is maximized. Your tendency is to think there is something wrong with your Uverse cable box and you want to call tech support.
Before calling tech support:
1. First check if there is loose cables on the back of your tv, sound system and STB. Please don't argue with yourself that you didn't do anything or touch anything. Just double check. There's nothing wrong with double checking.

2. Try rebooting your box by holding down the power button for five (5) seconds. If the soft rebooting doesn't work, unplug the power cord and plug it right back in.

3. If it is still not working, try programming your remote control to work back with your AT&T cable box. How? This process is only for remote controls which are already programmed to work with their TVs.
3.1.Press and hold both the ATT and OK buttons at the same time.
3.2 Release and enter 955.
3.3 Press the ENTER button. Now try to turn the volume up. Make sure the volume is set to 25 which is the default volume of your box.
Once you get it working, don't forget to program the remote control to work with your device. Follow the steps below:
3.3.1. Press and hold both the ATT and OK buttons at the same time.
3.3.2. Release and enter 955 and press the mode key, example TV if you only have your tv or AUX if you have the remote control assigned to work with a sound system.
3.3.3 Press the ENTER button.
It is a little bit long process but try that while waiting for tech support. Because once you have done that, then the next step is to replace your Uverse cable box.

Adsense and Entrecard

I have nothing to do so I read articles on how to increase traffic on my site. I am just a few month old blogger and I don't really know what to do. I have been reading blogs and forums that has the same topic when I crossed a few sites which has the question, " Is it OK to have both adsense and entrecard on a pag?". I am afraid to violate any TOS. The reason why I have entrecard is to increase traffic. I hope I can read more about this. I have seen some sites that have both. I checked their blogs and seems like they have been blogging for many years. I am wondering if they have received any warning from google regarding having both on their sites. Or is it OK to have both? If not I will be dropping entrecard asap.
